About Us

  • Shabbat: To be the highlight of the week.  For in six days you shall labor, but on Shabbat, you shall rejoice.  We are intentionally starting late in the afternoon to allow for that morning Shabbat rest, a time to physically relax and not rushing off to a fellowship.  Take the time to listen to the birds, and admire the creation of our Abba.  Soak in the pleasure of Shabbat.  Delight in the Shabbat! (deut 5:12-15)

  • We believe that Scripture should be studied from Genesis to Revelation in a loving, respectful and open forum.  Of course, to be able to effectively do this, we must be bold and courageous, yet kind. It should be considered normal to have different perspective on scriptures.  Debating is good, disagreeing is normal, growing is commanded, however arguing is unnecessary.

  • Our intention is to be thinking Hebraically and not in our default Greek mindset.  Hebraic thinking means that context is crucial and that a statement can mean more than one thing.  Greek thinking often forces us to take a “this or that” approach.  But scripture is not Greek; it is Hebraic.  Simply put: Do we believe our Almighty Creator is capable of doing multiple things simultaneously?  Well, then, who wrote the Torah and who inspired the rest of scripture?  So can a scripture mean more than it says:  Absolutely.

  • A Torah-based lifestyle is from YHWH [insert your pronounciation] Himself.  Torah was applicable in the garden of years past, is applicable to this very day, and will be in the future to come.  Torah is not legalism or rules, but rather an active, every moment demonstration of the Two Greatest Commandments both leading to purity and completeness which is our objective (Deut 6;6)

  • We believe that Yeshua [insert your pronounciation] is our Messiah, our Creator, and that there is but one Creator [something infinitely bigger than an angel]. We also understand that many have different perspectives on Messiah and what He did or accomplished and will accomplish and those differences are to be happily studied against scripture. Regardless of your deeply held beliefs in this area, please know that you are welcome to attend and study scripture. It is acceptable to disagree with another on simple or complex points of scripture, but we can all agree that one day we will all be set straight and we will all have to have a humble heart to recognize the errors of all our ways.

  • This group will be based on the principle of iron sharpens iron.  We are not interested in being stagnant, complacent or apathetic, but living the Torah [the only way of life in the universe that brings life and blessings] which is the daily active demonstration of YHWH’s desires. Our duty is to be pleasing in the sight of our Creator and an example to our neighbors and pursuing the objective of being complete [perfectly pure].

  • We believe this group must be based on the highest standard of scriptural examples—not what is acceptable to society, for society is hardly close to pure or complete. This includes the language we use in communications with one another, the way we treat our “brother” and work out disagreements, and how we dress.

  • Many are opposed to a dress code or modesty statement – as the parents of four sons and three daughters, we are not.  For all our gatherings including New Moons and other Festivals, men of all ages should dress in nice casual attire (no shorts or T-shirts promoting trucks or shoe companies, please.)  And, our preference for ladies of all ages would be to wear skirts or dresses that fall below the knees when seated (with legs crossed or not) [if not sure where the knee is, please google “what is the knee on a human”].  This is easy to test at home by sitting in front of a mirror (no measuring sticks are necessary).  Loose fitting capris or long pants are fine as well. Young girls should wear leggings of some sort, as well, to prevent immodesty while playing, running, etc.  We also request no sleeveless, tight-fitting, or low-cut shirts.  We are here to study scripture … not each other.  Please don’t be a stumbling block or distraction, but rather a beacon of light.

  • This study group invites anyone who desires to know and understand our Creator better than before and be willing to demonstrate a deliberate intention to becoming better today than they were yesterday.  You are most welcome to attend and have a delightful Shabbat with us.
